With “Rock Band” allowing players to play the game with drums, lead and bass guitar, and vocals, it was clear that the newcomer had raised the bar in the world of music games, with fanatics calling for the Guitar Hero franchise to follow suit.
And that’s exactly what they did with Activision’s (the developer of Guitar Hero) release of Guitar Hero World Tour, a very entertaining game that revolutionizes the Guitar Hero experience.
Aside from giving players the ability to rock out by being on the drums, guitars, and vocals, the game boasts of an even larger playlist of familiar and not-so-familiar tunes, giving hours of non stop musical fun. You can also opt to play any instrument alone, if you find yourself with nobody to play with. But then again, if you have an internet connection, it’s a simple matter of hooking your gaming console to the web and rocking out with strangers or friends via cyberspace.
What was previously a game limited to two guitar players has now been immensely improved, allowing for an even more realistic “band experience” – complete with band fights over which songs to play, sweaty and hot rooms with that “garage band” feel, and vocalists that just can’t sing.
Guitar Hero World Tour comes with a big setlist made up of songs from some of the greatest classic and modern rock bands, along with some of the biggest acts the world has ever seen. It’s a good mix of popular songs and recordings known only to a privileged few. Expect to play along to songs from Van Halen, Metallica, Michael Jackson, 311, Foo Fighters, Sting, Nirvana, Korn, Coldplay, Sex Pistols, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Satriani, and many, many more.
Our online auction currently has some copies of the game that are due for bidding. Remember to head to our home page and keep a lookout for updates.
