The Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop, Eye Candy at its Best

Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop on BidsTick.com

Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop on BidsTick.com

The second incarnation of the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop has changed little since its predecessor was first released in January 2008. It still lacks some essential features like an optical drive and Ethernet port among others. Still, the machine comes with some major positives like its extremely thin profile, the powder-silver finish, the low weight and outstanding build quality.

But don’t dismiss it just yet; the new version of the MacBook Air—like all others in the new MacBook line—now comes with an Nvidia chipset, giving it a significant edge over version 1.0 with its superior graphics capabilities. Although this addition slightly affects the notebook’s battery time as well as its noise and heat output, it’s a price most techies are willing to pay for this beauty.

Along with that is the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop’s backlit keyboard with the usual split keys featured on all MacBooks, making it a breeze to type on the device.

You also get Apple’s super-wide multi touch trackpad. Users will find it pleasing to use – having the capability of using a double finger swipe to scroll, tapping two fingers for a right-click and a four-finger swipe for Expose. Applications bundled with OS X are a delight to use with this trackpad.

The bottom line is that the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop is by no means a desktop replacement. It was never meant to be anyway, so don’t except robust features. There isn’t any optical drive and Ethernet port, only one USB port, a fixed battery and no 3G support. However, aesthetics come at a price and the new  MacBook Air certainly does not disappoint. Again, Apple manages to combine elegance and functionality with grace. With its super slim look it’s a must have for every Apple fan and fashion conscious techie out there. Interested? Head down to our penny auction right now.

Samsung i900 Omnia – Apple iPhone’s Match?

Samsungi 900 Omnia on BidsTick.com

Samsung i900 Omnia on BidsTick.com

The Samsung Omnia i900. Hyped as the one phone that could slay the iPhone, it didn’t take long for Samsung to actually release the gadget to the market after making their announcement – quite rare for a company to do that.

As always, let’s start with how it looks. The i900 measures at 112 x 56.9 x 12.5mm, and weighs in at 127g. Like the iPhone, it also sports a large 3.2 inch screen. Below that you have three buttons, Call and End, as well as the innovative Samsung mouse. The phone has a great feel thanks to its plastic brushed metal back, which is really made of plastic but feels nice in the hand anyway.

Samsung’s done some good work at making Windows Mobile work for this gadget. Users will find the touch screen easy to use, with big icons for finger movement. Using the bundled stylus even makes work on the phone easier.

One of the Samsung Omnia’s best features is haptic feedback. This allows users to feel what they’re doing on the phone, as every tap on the screen comes with a slight vibration, letting you know if the phone actually took down what you typed in.

Last but not least is the Samsung Omnia i900’s camera. This is its ace in the hole. The phone comes with a fantastic 5 mega pixel camera, capable of producing images with a maximum resolution of up to 2592 x 1944 pixels. The camera also comes with autofocus, digital image stabilizer, face recognition, smile detection, and geotagging. For night time shots, you can use the phone’s LED flash.

So, is the Samsung Omnia i900 worthy of taking over the iPhone? Maybe, maybe not. Those who have purchased both phones are divided in their opinions. In any case, the Samsung Omnia is a great looking phone with equally great features and capabilities. These babies get to be featured in our penny auction system so gadget lovers better keep your eyes open for them!

Sony Bravia M-Series 26-Inch HDTV on BidsTick.com

Sony Bravia M-Series 26-Inch HDTV on BidsTick.com

When thinking of HDTV’s one of the brands that first comes to most people’s minds is Sony. Our penny auction system’s Sony Bravia TV M-Series is a testament to the company’s expert workmanship, ingenuity and dedication in providing quality products to their consumers.

The Sony Bravia TV M-Series separates itself from the crowd of glossy black HDTV’s by sporting attractive accents and organically rounded-off-corners. It also comes with an inset panel with a perforated speaker grille along the bottom, and a subtle matte black ring bordering the entire frame.

If you’re afraid of messing up your HDTV by accidentally modifying its hard-to-understand settings, then the Sony Bravia TV M-Series is for you. As always, Sony excels at giving customers an easy experience with their simple-to-use menu system. This includes a “mini menu” that is comprised of a few often forgotten but vital functions like aspect ratio, closed caption and input selection.

The Sony Bravia TV M-Series’ remote controller is efficient and user friendly, coming in at the right size with the perfect set of buttons any user can easily distinguish by feel in a matter of minutes.

Like all entry level flat TV’s, the Sony Bravia TV has a native resolution of 1,366×768. Setting up and calibrating the Bravia is pretty easy thanks to the lack of advanced controls – perfect for first time HDTV purchasers. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t tweak and adjust the TV’s settings according to your preference.

The bottom line is that the Sony Bravia TV M-Series boasts of great sound and great picture quality. It’s a perfect choice for those looking to slowly start up a home entertainment system as well as individuals looking to boost their gaming experience.

The Apple MacBook Pro, Elegance and Top Performance Combined

Apple MacBook Pro on BidsTick.com

Apple MacBook Pro on BidsTick.com

Although the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro may look the same on the outside as older models, it now comes with significant upgrades and changes.

Inside the sleek aluminum case is Intel’s 2.4GHz mobile Core 2 Duo CPU, an upgrade that makes this machine capable of holding up against the horde of Windows Vista notebooks. You also get a new LED-backlit display on this 15-inch model, more power-efficient than the traditional LCD display, which makes for a longer battery life.

As always, Apple excels at aesthetics. Its minimalist design—a power button, a full-sized keyboard, stereo speakers, a touch pad with a single mouse button, and a built-in iSight camera—which is a staple of Apple’s, sets it apart from other notebooks in the market. In addition, the MacBook Pro’s thin aluminum chassis gives it a classy and streamlined look while making it lighter and easier to lug around when you’re on the go.

The MacBook Pro excels at benchmark tests thanks to its 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor. Also contributing to the machine’s performance is the built-in NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT. This allows users to crush middle to even high level games at high resolutions. Performance-wise, you’re pretty safe with the MacBook Pro.

Of course, a review on the Apple MacBook Pro would not be complete without at least mentioning the software that comes with the machine. Apple’s OS X is touted by some as light years ahead of Vista (Yes, I know, I know, this can be an exaggeration). The software is bundled with unique programs that are handy and pretty easy to use.

It’s pretty amazing how Apple’s stuffed all these features into such a slim case. The MacBook Pro’s design and craftsmanship is definitely first class. The machine’s performance is also in top shape. If this notebook tickles your fancy, then head down to our penny auction system and start bidding!
