Home Theater System? The Samsung Blu-ray Player is for You

Samsung Blu-ray Player on BidsTick.com

Samsung Blu-ray Player on BidsTick.com

Samsung, one of the top manufacturers of standalone HD players, has come a long way since it released its first Blu-ray player, the Samsung BD-P1000. In 2008, the company then released its next offering to the market, the Samsung BD-P1400 – one of the best Samsung Blu ray players in the market right now.

The BD-P1400 Samsung Blu-ray player’s design is a testament to Samsung’s dedication to perfection. Sporting an edgy piano black finish, this player comes with some nice curves, breaking away from the stereotypical “boxy” media players. The silver decorative stripe along the bezel’s bottom adds that nice futuristic touch. Finally, users will notice the very bright blue power button paired with an equally bright LCD display. If you find that too intrusive, there’s always the option of dimming them.

What truly sets the BD-P1400 Samsung Blu-ray player apart is its capability of supporting Dolby Digital+/TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio/High Resolution. This model is one of—if not—the most affordable standalone Blu-ray player to support these next generation surround sounds. It’s also compatible with older gear; it can decode and output multi-channel CD-quality sound through either 5.1 analog audio or HDMI output.

As for video quality, the BD-P1400 Samsung Blu-ray player offers equally promising features with its ability to play video via HDMI up to the highly coveted 24Hz film mode. Playing DVD’s in this high format offers decent results as well.

All in all, the BD-P1400 is without a doubt one of the best Samsung Blu ray players in circulation today, making it an awesome choice to integrate into your home theater system. With its JPEG and MP3 support, it serves multiple functions bound to please any audio-visual junkie. The best part? Our penny auction system has one for you, so start bidding and don‘t be left behind.

The Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop, Eye Candy at its Best

Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop on BidsTick.com

Apple MacBook Air 13.3 Laptop on BidsTick.com

The second incarnation of the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop has changed little since its predecessor was first released in January 2008. It still lacks some essential features like an optical drive and Ethernet port among others. Still, the machine comes with some major positives like its extremely thin profile, the powder-silver finish, the low weight and outstanding build quality.

But don’t dismiss it just yet; the new version of the MacBook Air—like all others in the new MacBook line—now comes with an Nvidia chipset, giving it a significant edge over version 1.0 with its superior graphics capabilities. Although this addition slightly affects the notebook’s battery time as well as its noise and heat output, it’s a price most techies are willing to pay for this beauty.

Along with that is the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop’s backlit keyboard with the usual split keys featured on all MacBooks, making it a breeze to type on the device.

You also get Apple’s super-wide multi touch trackpad. Users will find it pleasing to use – having the capability of using a double finger swipe to scroll, tapping two fingers for a right-click and a four-finger swipe for Expose. Applications bundled with OS X are a delight to use with this trackpad.

The bottom line is that the Apple MacBook Air 13.3 laptop is by no means a desktop replacement. It was never meant to be anyway, so don’t except robust features. There isn’t any optical drive and Ethernet port, only one USB port, a fixed battery and no 3G support. However, aesthetics come at a price and the new  MacBook Air certainly does not disappoint. Again, Apple manages to combine elegance and functionality with grace. With its super slim look it’s a must have for every Apple fan and fashion conscious techie out there. Interested? Head down to our penny auction right now.
